Spring has Sprung!

and so have my new shoes! What better way to debut them then with a fabulous event for the New Skinnygirls from Betthany Frankels’ delicious line of Skinnygirl libations!

The rain need not keep me and my strappy sandals from sipping cocktails in NYC on a spring Thursday! It was fun, and the grapefruit margarita is my new fav. Since they’re lower in calories, why not have a few??image001 image002

It was a fashionable night indeed at Bloomingdale’s in White Plains, New York, on October 20 as Colleen signed copies of The Stylish Girl’s Guide to Fabulous Cocktails as shoppers took part in the “Love Where You Live” charity event benefiting 40 local non-profit organizations. While tasting some of her best drink recipes, Colleen shared some of her tips on the “must-haves” for every Stylish Girl’s home bar! She’s heading back to Bloomingdale’s again on November 11th for a Stylish Bride’s Night Out — come join us!

WISHing for Cocktails in Rye!

To celebrate the debut of Sex and the City 2 that day, Colleen made up a batch of Ruby Slippers for WISH owner Denise MacDonald and her friends in Rye for a mini cocktail party on Thursday, May 27. There was great traffic in the store, helping WISH sell more than 70 copies of The Stylish Girl’s Guide to Fabulous Cocktails and It’s 5 o’Clock Somewhere during her visit! WISH is one of our favorite locations for finding the perfect hostess gift (and GREAT books). If you’d like Colleen to come by your store with books to sign and cocktails to share, just let us know.

The Stylish Girl’s Guide to Fabulous Cocktails Release Party

Over 50 ladies had cocktails in hand to help Colleen celebrate the release of The Stylish Girl’s Guide at Peridot Fine Jewelry in Greenwich, Connecticut on Wednesday, May 26. Hosted by Peridot’s charming Dawn Hendricks along with Suni Unger, publisher of Greenwich’s great new Serendipity Magazine, the party was glam from start to finish. The VIP guest that night was definitely the gorgeous black and white diamond “bow ring” that Charlotte wears in Sex and the City 2! We think it looks even better on Colleen! Many thanks to everyone who joined us and look for great coverage of the event in the Aug/Sept. issue of Serendipity!

Holiday Tablescapes

What a wonderful day at WISH, in Rye, New York.  I set out to design festive tabletops that would take your table form ordinary to extraordinary, using four of the moment trends: Global Exotic, Vintage Hollywood, Modern Reds, and Garden Glam. I also styled the bar, and created treat-filled trees for the little ones’ table. I was busy answering questions and engaging in a lively discussion about how I go about putting a table together, from coming up with the theme, to layering the pieces, and telling the story. I, of course used many wonderful items from the store, mixing and matching as I went along. I also brought a few of my favorite things from home, as I am a big fan of use what you have — it adds a personal touch.

Here are a few snapshots from our very stylish day! Special thanks to Denise MacDonald and the great team at WISH — if you’re in the area, don’t miss a chance to stop by and shop!

Fashion, Friends and Cocktails! All to benefit Maria Fareri’s Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center After the gals from the Etcetera clothing line gave their fall fashion basics, I shared my basics for entertaining with style. After all, you must look fabulous while mixing up a batch of Stardusts cocktails (from Capetown, South Africa as featured on the cover of my book, It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere). You’ll look on top of the trends wearing your touch of teal blue, stirring a batch of cocktails, sashaying about to the tunes from your playlist, admiring the flowers from the corner market that you artfully arranged, nibbling cashews you set out in pretty bowls. After all, everything looks better dressed up in silver, and you’ll think to yourself, I do entertain with style!!
