Stylish Entertaining

Fashion, Friends, and Cocktails!
All to benefit Maria Fiori's Children's Hospital in Westchester, New York.
After the gals from ETC clothing line gave their fall fashion basics, I shared my basics for entertaining with style. After all, you must look fabulous while mixing up a batch of Stardust's ( from Capetown, South Africa, from my book It's 5 o'clock Somewhere). You'll look on top of the trends wearing your touch of teal blue, stirring a batch of cocktails, sashaying about to the tunes from your playlist, admiring your flowers from the corner market you artfully arranged, nibbling on a cashew you set on in
pretty bowls, you know everything looks better dressed up in silver, and you'll think to yourself, I do entertain with style!!

Girls Gathering

One of my friends was back in town for a visit, she and her family had moved back to Australia last October, and my cocktail hours have been missing an element ever since.
So, I decided to celebrate her, and summer, and friends, that I would host a dinner party. A perfect reason!
I went to work, sending out invitations, setting a menu, and then setting the scene.
Vibrant tropical hues lined the table and were illuminated by the many candles sprinkled down the table.
We started with cocktails on the patio, since she is a fan of champagne, I made a mixer with fresh peaches and cherry liqueur, very delicious, and very popular with the ladies!
Dinner inside was spinach salad with spiced pecans, baked swordfish with crusted tops, rice salad, grilled vegetables, and mashed potatoes.
Dessert couldn't have been more spectacular, a chocolate raspberry cake, and chocolate covered strawberries, both made and brought by a few fine ladies.
All in all, a fine summer evening of friends, laughter, and bubbles!

Book Signing Party

Cathy O'Brien Yaffa, Colleen Mullaney, Denise MacDonald (proprietor extraordinaire)What a great day today at WISH a most stylish home store in Rye, New York. The crowd was a happy one, cocktailing and retailing, a beautiful combination.

We served the Stardust, from Capetown out of It's 5o'clock Somewhere, and a refreshing Fruit Smoothie punch, from Punch.

We mingled and chatted about summer entertaining tips, why its so fabulous to have a signature cocktail at your party, in case you're wondering it adds instant personality, and gives everyone something fun to drink!, and why you should serve big batches of luscious libations, like a punch, and ok I'll tell you, it creates a self-serve bar and enables you to relax and enjoy your guests. But most of all we had fun!

See you at our next event. Life is short, must make time for sipping and shopping!

A special thank you to Denise for hosting the soiree, and if you are in Rye, you simply must stop by!
